Use Tinamed Wart Remover

Warts are unsightly, but luckily, treating minor cases is pretty easy. Tinamed is an over-the-counter wart removal treatment that can be very effective in getting rid of those ugly little warts, whether common warts or plantars. However, the key to a successful treatment is persistence. If you give up on your treatment, the warts may come back and they may be worse. In addition to the directions on the box, you can take other steps to make sure you're getting the most effective treatment.

Instructions

1. Wash your hands and the affected area to avoid an infection or spreading warts to another part of your body (or someone else's).

2. Soak the affected area in warm water for five to 15 minutes. You can also use a vinegar-water solution of one part white distilled vinegar to two parts warm water.

3. File down your warts lightly using an inexpensive, throwaway nail file or emery board. This will help the medicine soak deeply into the wart, speeding removal. If your warts are below a finger or toenail, use the nail fail to file away at the nail to get to the wart, being careful not to remove too much nail. Stop filing if it starts to hurt.

4. Brush a drop of Tinamed onto the wart with the applicator. You can't overdose on a topical product like Tinamed, but you don't need much to be effective. Let it dry, then cover the treated wart with a Band-Aid to keep the medicine on it.

5. Repeat these directions once or twice a day--minus the filing, which should only be done occasionally--for up to 12 weeks, or until the wart disappears.

Tips Warnings

One other option for removing warts at home is to use duct tape to cover the wart. You can use duct tape in place of a regular bandage to help irritate and remove the wart.

If your wart hasn't disappeared after 12 weeks of treatment with over-the-counter medicine, you may need something stronger, or you may need to try a different strategy. Talk to your doctor about your other options, which may include freezing the wart off or having it removed by lasers.

Never attempt to cut off a wart.

Avoid spreading wart-causing spores, which can infect other parts of your body or other people in your home. Thoroughly wash your hands and throw away any bandages, files, or other implements that come into contact with your warts.
