Memorial invitations should be simple, yet elegant.
One of the most painful experiences in life is the loss of someone close to us. Although a memorial service can be a powerful way of remembering and celebrating the life of a person, it can be very difficult to plan while you are in the middle of the grieving process. Writing a memorial service invitation is never easy, and you may be struggling to figure out the appropriate way to word it. The best approach is to word the invitation in a simple and elegant way.
Instructions
1. Insert a photo of the person the memorial service is for on the front cover of your invitation. Under the photo, include a quotation from the person's favorite poem. You may also include a sincere, emotional personal statement from the family addressing the person. An example would be: You will not be forgotten as long as we hold onto our memories of you in our hearts.
2. Enter the dates of the person's birth and death (for example, 1934-2009) on the inside of the invitation. Under the dates, write In Memoriam. On the following line, enter the full name of the person the memorial service is for. Skip a few lines.
3. Enter the details of the memorial service. Create your invitation by writing, The honor of your presence is requested at a memorial service to celebrate and remember the life of [person's name here]. Write the details of the memorial service, including the date and time, the location and any other particular details about the event you wish to include.
4. Include a short biography about the deceased, if you desire to. You can insert this bio on the left inside panel of your memorial service invitation.
Tips Warnings
Avoid excessive wording and overly long biographies or statements. A memorial service invitation should be formal and elegant without overwhelming amounts of information or text.
