Pick a Magic Jack Phone Number
Magic Jack is a discrete device that you attach to the back of a computer with Internet access and use your Internet to place phone calls for an annual fee. The device allows you to set your area code while the company provides you with a stock telephone number. It is possible to set your own phone number for a small additional annual fee, however. The Magic Jack Co. refers to these custom phone numbers as vanity numbers.
Instructions
1. Access your Magic Jack account on the My Magic Jack website. Use your current Magic Jack phone number and the password you set up when you first installed Magic Jack to access your profile.
2. Click the My Subscriptions tab near the top of the account page. Browse the new page that appears until you find the Change Phone Number button near the center of the screen. A new screen appears where you must click the Change My Phone Number button under the subscription information and then click the next option.
3. Click the Magic Jack option on the right side of the list that appears. Clicking the Next option will show you a list of available numbers for your phone. If you want to choose your own number, though, you must select the Add a New Number for $10 option at the top right of the number option list.
4. Set in the location of your phone (such as the state and the correct prefix for your location). Click the blue button below your location information stating that you would like to choose the last four digits of your phone number for an annual fee.
5. Enter the last four digits you would like for your phone number into the screen that appears next. Verify the number is correct and save your changes.
