Make White Chocolate Fondue
Fondue, once a staple of 1960s and 1970s dinner parties, has returned. A white chocolate fondue is a deliciously fun twist on an old favorite, and the dipping possibilities are endless. Whether you prepare it as a romantic dessert for two or for a larger gathering of family and friends, it's sure to be a hit.
Instructions
1. Set up your fondue pot, closely following the instructions that came with your pot.
2. Place your dried pineapple and cherries in separate bowls or ramekins.
3. Chop the yellow and chocolate pound cakes into 1-inch cubes and place them in separate bowls.
4. Wash the strawberries and peaches well. Place whole strawberries in a bowl. Slice the bananas into chunks, slice the peaches, and place them in separate bowls.
5. Fill the bottom pot of the double boiler halfway with water and bring it to a simmer. Place the top pot on top of the bottom pot.
6. Pour heavy cream into the top pot. Stir constantly until the cream is warmed (2 to 3 minutes).
7. Add the white chocolate and the butter to the simmering cream. Continue to stir constantly until the mixture is completely melted.
8. Remove the top pot from the double boiler. If you opt to add a flavored liqueur, place the top pot on an oven mitt and mix in the liqueur with a whisk. Transfer the white chocolate mixture to the fondue pot. Serve immediately.
