Surprise Ways To Give Someone Sports Tickets

Surprise the sports fan in your life with a gift of sporting event tickets.

The gift itself is usually the best part of receiving a surprise present. But, when thoughtful planning goes into the actual process of giving the present, it can be a gift in itself. The look on the recipient's face when he receives the gift, such as sports tickets, can be a present for the gift-giver as well. Arranging to give the gift of sports tickets to a die-hard sports fan in an unusual way will make giving the present memorable to all involved.

Sports Ticket Appetizer

Take the person you are giving the tickets to out to eat. Contact the restaurant ahead of time and let them know that you want to surprise your guest with tickets to a sporting event. Step away soon after you have been seated and make arrangements with the server to have the tickets brought out with their entree or appetizer. Or, when the bill comes for the meal, have the server hand you the bill and say something like I believe this is for you and hand the tickets to the recipient.

Special Delivery

Contact a business such as a singing telegram-style company or a member of a local acting company to have them deliver the tickets to the recipient. Arrange through a costume rental company for the delivery person to dressin the uniform, including hat and shoes, of the team that the person getting the tickets is a fan of. Have them knock on that person's door and hand her the tickets. Alternatively, you could contact a celebrity impersonator in your area and have him deliver the tickets on your behalf.

Extra Special Delivery

Contact the team that your ticket recipient is a fan of. Find out if there is a local event scheduled where a couple of the players will be making an appearance, such as an autograph signing. Arrange with the team's publicity department to have one of the players give the tickets to your friend or loved one. Take the person to the event and locate the team's publicity person. Give them the tickets, then when the recipient goes to get the autograph or shake hands with the player, the player will, in turn, hand them the tickets to the game.

Bookmark

If the tickets are supposed to be a gift, such as for a birthday or Christmas, buy the person a book that features his favorite team. When he opens the package and see the book, he will likely be pretty happy with the gift. Then tell him that you got him a special bookmark to use with the book and hand him the tickets.
