RCA remote controls can be programmed to work with a variety of different products, from DVD players to VHS tape decks and even different televisions. This includes a Hitachi TV. All video equipment has its own specific code to sync with the RCA remote control. This allows the remote to pair exclusively with the Hitachi television set.
Instructions
1. Press the "Power" button on the Hitachi television.
2. Point the RCA remote control at the television and press and hold the "Code Search" button.
3. Push the "TV" button. This programs the "TV" to hold the Hitachi TV code information.
4. Use one of the available Hitachi TV codes. If one of the codes does not work, you need to attempt the remote programming with a different code until one works.

5. Let go of the "Code Search" button and press the channel-up button. If the channel of the television goes up, the programming is successful. If not, you need to reattempt the programming process.
