Buy A Us Cellular Prepaid Cell Phone

With a US Cellular prepaid cell phone plan, you can still enjoy excellent value on your wireless communications without being bogged down by annual or 2-year service commitments. US Cellular also offers forward-thinking text messaging-only plans, which are specially designed for people with hearing disabilities.

Instructions

1. Decide on the cell phone features you think you'll use most often, such as voicemail, text and picture messaging, and take your best guess as to the number of minutes you'll need. US Cellular plans often include unlimited minutes on call receiving and evening calling, but you'll always have to pay for your daytime minutes.

2. Compare the features of US Cellular's different monthly access rates. Available in a variety of denominations, each different value allows you access to a range of features, including fixed-rate international calling and directory assistance.

3. Become familiar with your local coverage map, and try not to make calls outside your coverage zone to avoid additional expense. All US Cellular plans charge roaming fees if you use your cell phone outside your designated service area.

4. Purchase additional minutes at advertised rates, which will vary depending on which of the initial plans you signed up for. The higher the cost of your initial monthly plan, the lower the per-minute cost of your additional minutes.

5. Activate your phone using the instructions provided with your starter kit, or with the assistance of a customer service representative. You can contact US Cellular staff through their prepaid website (see Resources below).

6. Keep tabs on your phone use. Adjust your plan accordingly, adding or subtracting minutes as needed. Remember that US Cellular charges for calls made or received between 6:00 a.m. and 8:59 p.m. at the daytime rate.

7. Expect your minutes to expire on the day before your monthly charge period ends. For example, if you bought your minutes on July 1, your minutes expire at 11:59 a.m. on July 31.

8. Buy new monthly plans directly off the US Cellular website or through an authorized retailer. If you want to convert an existing phone to US Cellular service, contact a customer service representative.
