Fix A Ringing Noise In An Lcd Tv

LCD televisions not only give you an increased amount of control over the picture of your TV programming but the audio as well. Although you should experience crisper audio than what you are used to with a standard projection television, you may occasionally hear a slight ringing noise emitting from your TV. Try several different methods to correct the issue.

Instructions

1. Check the audio cable connection in the back of the LCD television. If the audio cable is not inserted completely in either the LCD TV or the output device (DVD player or cable receiver), a ringing noise can result. Push the cables completely into the input/output ports to correct the issue.

2. Change the input device you are using to see if the issue is with the television or the device sending the signal. For example, if you are watching a DVD and hearing the ringing noise, switch the input to your cable receiver. Listen to see if any ringing noise comes from the cable source. If there is no ringing, you know there is an issue with your other output device. If the ringing continues, the issue is with your television.

3. Replace the audio cables you are using to connect the device with the TV. This helps correct the issue if the ringing is coming from one specific output product.

4. Press the "Menu" button on the LCD's remote control and select the "Audio" options. Scroll down through the menu and select "Bass." Turn the the bass down, then do the same with "Treble." Having these two turned up too far can result in ringing noises.
