Fix The Display On A Samsung Scd103 Camcorder

The Samsung SCD103 is a digital video camera designed for individuals just starting out in recording video. The camcorder records onto a miniDV tape and only has a few basic settings. All recording content is viewed on the pull-out LCD monitor -- so if the monitor isn't functioning properly you need to determine what exactly is causing the issue. Otherwise, you are unable to see the recorded content.

Instructions

1. Fully charge the Samsung SCD103s battery. If the battery is beginning to fail many of the features on the camcorder stop functioning, including the LCD screen. Once the battery is fully charged the camera's display monitor begins to function again.

2. Power down the video camera and remove the battery for a few minutes. Connect the hardware back together and power up the video camcorder. This resets many of the features on the digital video camera, including the LCD display screen.

3. Look over the connection running from the LCD screen to the camera. There is a small connector holding the LCD screen in place. If this is damaged or broken the video screen is not going to receive any image signals. To fix this problem you must take the video camera into a local repair facility that specializes in digital cameras.

4. Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to any scratches on the LCD monitor. This fills in the scratch, making it almost impossible to see. This is helpful if you have a large scratch preventing you from seeing information on the LCD screen.
