Use The Remote On The Canon Rebel Xti

The Canon Rebel XTi digital camera provides photographers with several shooting options to meet the needs of their shooting conditions. Among the options is using a wireless remote control to activate the camera's shutter. This feature allows the photographer to be a part of the picture or allow him to set up the picture without the need to stand behind the camera.

Instructions

1. Place the camera on a flat surface or tripod and frame the photograph using the LCD screen or viewfinder.

2. Press the "Self-Timer" button on the back of the camera. The LCD screen will read "Self-timer/Remote Control." The "Self-Timer" button is to the right of the LCD screen and above the navigation buttons. The symbol for the "Self-Timer" button is a rectangle next to a timer.

3. Push the left or right navigation buttons to select "Self-Timer," which is the timer icon.

4. Aim the remote control at the camera and press the "Transmit" button. The "Transmit" button is the large, circular button on the remote control. The camera will automatically focus the shot and take a photograph.
