Kodak Playsport Instructions

Kodak PlaySport Instructions

The Kodak PlaySport video camera is made for adventurous outdoor people. The handheld camera has a rugged design and can used in 10 feet of water. The video camera captures HD video footage and takes still shots, too. Using the PlaySport is a simple process that requires basic knowledge of video cameras and an understanding of PlaySport functions. Along with recording, you should learn upload, edit and share footage.

Instructions

1. Charge the camera for two hours, using one of three methods. Connect the USB adapter to the camera and attach it to the outlet adapter, plug the USB connection directly into a computer or take the battery out and use the external charger.

2. Power on the camera by pressing the small power button on the right side of the camera. The LCD screen will power on, and a live view will appear within a few seconds.

3. Use the camera's controls to record video or play back videos. The large middle button on the back is used to record or stop recording. The "Play" button accesses already recorded videos, and small thumbnails appear. Press the arrow buttons to scroll through different videos.

4. Press the "Wrench" icon to load the "Settings" menu.

5. Click on the first icon to change the date and time. Use the arrows to scroll and change the numbered date, time, and "A.M" or "P.M." Press "OK" to save the settings.

6. Select the "LCD Glare Shield" menu. Choose an LCD setting that works for the available light. The black-and-white setting will work best in sunlight, but videos will still be recorded in color.

7. Change the camera to "Underwater Mode" when using in the water. Click on the "H2O" icon in the settings to quickly turn it on. If you use this mode out of water, the image may be blurry or out of focus. Turn the setting off when the camera is out of the water.

8. Connect either the HDMI or RCA cables into the side port of the PlaySport. Connect the other ends into an import on a television. Access the saved videos on the camera and press "Play" to automatically play them on a television.

9. Plug the USB cable into a computer to upload and edit video footage. Insert the Arcsoft Media Impression installation CD and follow the installation instructions.

10. Select the video clips you want to upload and load them into the program. Use the trimmers to take sections off the front and back of clips.

11. Use the quick tools to convert videos for Facebook, YouTube, or other social media websites.
