Reset A Cd Player

With home-based CD players, you can save and adjust the settings of the compact disc player. These settings range from the amount of bass and treble the player expels to choosing a title for each disc so the player recognizes it when inserted into the disc drive. However, if you intend on selling the player or just want a fresh start with the equipment, you can reset the CD player back to the factory settings.

Instructions

1. Power on the CD player and wait for the system to warm up and the screen to blink on. You do not need any CD inside the disc tray to continue.

2. Look over the CD player for a small, circular button roughly the size of a pencil tip. The button is set back into the case so you can't accidentally press it. Although the button usually is on the front display, you may need to look on the rear of the player.

3. Insert a ball-point pen into the button hole. If you do not have one around, you can use a paper clip, thumb tack, hair pin or any other small device.

4. Push the button and the screen begins to blink. Allow the system to run through its start-up mode. Once the system completely restarts it reverts to its factory settings and all of your old settings are erased.
