Instructions To Program My Radio Shack Pro 97 Scanning Receiver

Instructions to Program My Radio Shack Pro 97 Scanning Receiver

The Radio Shack Pro-97 is a handheld scanner that you can take along with you on the road. It can track various frequencies, including hybrid analog trunking systems. It takes about 16 hours to fully charge this scanner before the first use. Radio Shack recommends fully charging the Pro-97 before you attempt any sort of programming. According to the user's manual, you must program and store frequencies in the scanner before it can complete a scan. You can store up to 900 different channels on this scanner.

Instructions

1. Turn on the scanner by turning the "Off Vol/SQ" knob on top of the scanner clockwise. You will see "Multi-system Trunking Scanner" appear on the display screen.

2. Turn the "Off Vol/SQ" knob counterclockwise to get rid of any hissing noise you may hear.

3. Press the "MAN" button, which is located underneath the speaker on the front of the device.

4. Enter a bank number (0 through 9) and a channel number (00 through 99) using the numbered keypad. This is the location where you will store a frequency. Press the "MAN" button again. You will see the bank and channel number you selected on the upper left corner of the display screen.

5. Press the "PGM" key. Using the numbered keys, enter the frequency you want to store. Be sure to include the decimal point. You can add a decimal by pressing the "./DELAY" button. If you make a mistake when entering the frequency, press the "CL" button to delete one number at a time.

6. Press the "ENT" button to store the frequency into the channel you selected. Repeat the steps to program additional frequencies.
