Use Vhs Recorders For Surveillance

A standard VHS cassette records surveillance footage from the security camera.

A VHS recorder connected to a security camera can be used to make a videotape copy of activity under surveillance. The connection requires a standard audio-video cable with RCA-type plugs on each end. Standard VHS tapes provide about two hours of recording time per cassette, although most VHS recorders are equipped with adjustable recording settings to extend the time of a standard tape up to six hours.

Instructions

1. Plug in the yellow video cable to the Video Out jack and the red audio cable into the Audio Out jack on the security camera.

2. Connect the other end of each cable to the corresponding video and audio input jacks on the back of the VHS recorder.

3. Insert a VHS cassette into the VHS recorder and turn on the security camera.

4. Press the tape speed button on the VHS recorder's remote control to change the recording time from SP (2 hours) to LP (4 hours) or SLP (6 hours).

5. Press "Record" on the VHS component to begin capturing surveillance footage transmitted from the camera.
