Mount A Laptop On A Desk

Mounting your laptop on your desk can lessen strain on your wrists and neck and create more space.

Using a laptop mount on your desk creates a workspace that optimizes comfort and lessens stress or injury. Mounting your laptop onto your desk will give you better keyboard and screen positioning to fit how you work. It can also free up space on your desk and create a larger working area.

Instructions

1. Purchase your mount. There are many different types of desktop mounts available, and the one you choose depends on how you want to adjust your viewing and hand positioning in your workspace. Base your decision on considerations like whether you need to lift your head to create less strain on your neck or want to tilt your keyboard to make typing easier on your wrists.

2. Clear off your workspace completely. Remove all electronics and breakable objects from your desk. You will want plenty of room to move and put tools and parts of the mount when assembling and securing it onto your desk.

3. Assemble the mount. If assembly is required to put together the mount before securing it to your desk, follow the instructions that came with the product.

4. Secure the mount to your desk. Decide where to place the mount to optimize your performance and available space. Use screws to fasten the mount into place according to the instruction manual.

5. Place your laptop into the mount and return all objects to your desk. Arrange items as necessary to make allowances for the new mount and your new working position.
