Transfer Video Clips From A Panasonic Nvds65 To A Computer

You have all of those great videos you've taken stored on the minitape in your camera, but now it's time to share them with the world. Moving your favorite video clips and other files from your Panasonic NV-DS65 to your computer can be an intimidating, and sometimes frustrating, task if you don't follow a few simple steps. The key here is using the right equipment and good software.

Instructions

1. Install the drivers and other software that came with your video camera to your computer. Also check the Panasonic website to make sure you have the newest version of the drivers. Your computer will not recognize the camera unless the proper drivers are installed.

2. Connect the NV-DS65 to your computer using a FireWire cable. Do not use USB. Purchase a FireWire card for your computer if you don't already have a FireWire port available.

3. Turn on the camera, and the computer will recognize it and set it up for use on your PC.

4. Transfer the video file to your PC by viewing it directly from the camera using your video editing software. Windows MovieMaker and iMovie, which come packaged with PCs and Macs, are adequate to do this.

5. Save the video as a file on your computer using your video editing software.
