Recover An Olympus Ds40 Recorder

The Olympus DS-40 digital video recorder can connect to a computer to transfer audio files to a computer's hard drive. This handy feature is useful when you accidentally delete an audio file that you need back because there are computer-based file recovery programs that will recover them. They will scan the DS-40's entire hard drive for recently deleted files, so you will regain your files.

Instructions

1. Insert the DS-40 into the computer through the USB cable.

2. Download Tokiwa DataRecovery program in the Resource section. Choose the DS-40 from the storage device selection screen. Select the files you want by clicking on them. Click "Recovery" to retrieve them.

3. Regain deleted files with Easeus, which is available in the Resources section. From the storage device selection screen that opens up, click the DS-40. Find the deleted audio files and click on them. To recover them, click "Restore."

4. Retrieve deleted audio files with Recuva (see Resources). Click the drop-down arrow at the top of the screen and click the DS-40. In the large white screen below, click on the deleted audio files. Click "Restore" to restore them.
