Make A Display Light Box

Light boxes can be used to display various types of items and to use when taking pictures to post online if you are trying to sell something. A light box projects light onto an object placed inside the box. In order to make a display light box, you should first determine how big to build the display.

Instructions

1. Determine the size of light box that you want to build, such as 14 inches by 16 inches.

2. Cut two pieces of the board to 12 inches with the circular saw. Repeat this step for two 16-inch boards.

3. Apply a bead of wood glue to the edges of the 12-inch boards. Place them and the 16-inch boards together to form a box. Drive two finish nails into each corner, where two boards meet, using the nail gun.

4. Measure a piece of MDF to the width and height of the light box. Cut the MDF to the measurement.

5. Apply spray glue to the top of the MDF and place the paper on the glue. Cut excess paper from the edges.

6. Set the piece of MDF face-down. Attach a hinge to the top and bottom of the right edge with screws using the drill.

7. Set the piece of MDF on the back of the box frame. Secure the hinges to the light box with screws. This will be the access door for the box.

8. Lay the light box down so the front is facing up. Apply a bead of clear silicone caulk to top edges of the 1-inch-by-3-inch boards. Set the glass on the front of the light box and press down to adhere it to the silicone. Wait at least 12 hours for the silicone to dry.

9. Set the complete light box upright. Open the access odor and place two or three puck lights at the top. Place batteries in the puck lights and peel the wax paper from the adhesive.
