Troubleshoot A Polaroid Pdm0743

The Polaroid PDM-0743 is a portable DVD player that features a 7-inch viewing screen. The player can play DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD and CD-R/RW discs. It also has a built-in Dolby Digital Decoder for quality stereo sound from its on-board speakers. If you are having issues operating the PDM-0743, you can troubleshoot your problems to get it back into working condition.

Instructions

1. Plug the unit into a wall outlet with the power adapter. The PDM-0743 runs while plugged in or using the rechargeable battery. If you have trouble turning the player on, plug it in to ensure the battery is fully charged before running it on battery power.

2. Check that the battery is properly inserted. The battery pack inserts into the back of the unit.

3. Check the DVD slot. The disc should be fully inserted into the DVD slot and the DVD cover should be shut.

4. Check the DVD disc. If the disc is scratched or dirty, it may not operate properly. Remove any dirt particles or fingerprints from the reflective surface of the DVD and try again.

5. Press the "Mode" button to toggle the aspect ratio modes of the LCD screen. The screen can be switched between widescreen 16:9, full screen 4:4, 16:9 overturned and 4"3 overturned.

6. Switch the AV mode. The player can be set to play on the attached LCD screen or on an external TV. If you are playing on the LCD screen, set the AV mode switch to "IN." If you are attempting to play on an external screen, set the switch to "OUT" to output the video signal.
