Install A Kenwood Krv990d

When setting up your home entertainment system, it is important to set up and install your receiver first. If you have the Kenwood KR-V990D, then installing it correctly may seem daunting, but it is easy once you work out which cables go where. The Kenwood KR-V990D supports a "variety of home theater functions" including Dolby AC-3, Dolby Pro Logic & Dolby 3 Stereo and DSP Logic. Once set up, you will be able to control the sound from all of your multimedia devices through one system amplifier/receiver.

Instructions

1. Connect your AM or FM antennas first. Connect the "AM" antenna to the "AM" slots at the back. Push down the red jack lever, and push the red wire into it, then release the lever. Repeat with the black wire. Plug your FM receiver into the FM jack.

2. Connect your other audio devices. Each is connected with a pair of audio connecters (red and white). Plug each connecting cable in for your "CD Player," "Cassette or Mini Disk Deck" and "Tape Deck 2" or "Monitor." Plug your record turntable, if you have one, into "Phono."

3. Connect your video or DVD player into the back of the device. Like audio devices, video devices are labelled. Connect the red and white cables to the audio inputs, and then the video cable into the relevant video input. You can connect up to four video devices including a VCR, DVD Player, LaserDisc Player, and a TV/Cable Tuner.

4. Connect the "System control" cables. If you are using Kenwood devices throughout your system, then you can connect system control cables. This allows each device to have control over others.

5. Unscrew the speaker connecters at the rear of your unit. Push the white cable from your speakers into the "+" slots at the back of your unit. Tighten the connector. Push the black end into the "-" slots. Tighten the connector. Repeat with all speakers.

6. Place your device on a surface that is well ventilated. If you place items on top of it, make sure that they are raised slightly so that no airflow is blocked.

7. Press the "MAIN POWER" button to turn on the receiver. You have now installed the Kenwood KR-V990D.
