Change A Ringtone On The Motorola Razr

If you have ever popped open your phone and answered it only to find that it was someone you did not want to talk to, then you know how handy it is to assign ringtones. You can personalize ringtones or you can select from the many pre-programmed ones that your phone already has. Change and assign ringtones to all your contacts to let you know who is calling before you even open up your cell phone.

Instructions

1. Find your contact list on your phone. You can usually find this by selecting the bottom right button on the screen and hitting the “Contacts” button. If you cannot find this selection then navigate to the main menu of your phone by hitting the button in the center of the directional pad. This pad is located right above the number keypad on your phone. Once there you will see a phonebook icon, select the option titled “Contacts,” then click the option titled “Contact List” and you will be taken to all of your contacts.

2. Scroll up and down to find the contact that you want to update. You can also use the search function at the bottom of the screen by entering the name of the contact that you are looking for. Once you have the contact highlighted click the “View” button to see what options are available to you.

3. Click the “Edit” button by hitting the center key on the directional pad. This will take you into an edit mode that will allow you to do a variety of other things, but more importantly will allow you to change and set the ringtone for the contact you want to edit.

4. Push the down button on the directional pad until you get to the option of “Ringtone.” This option will have a bell next to the title. Once you have it highlighted you will be given the option to change it. Hit the “Set” button at the bottom left of the screen to find a new ringtone.

5. Hit the up or down button on the directional pad to scroll through the list. The list that you should have before you now should be titled “Tunes & Tones.” This will have all of the sounds you have recorded or have pre-set in the phone. Once you have highlighted the choice you want click “OK.” You can also listen to the selection before choosing it by clicking “Play” on the bottom left of the screen. Once you have selected it you will be taken back to the edit screen. Click the “Save” button to save your selection on that contact. If you want to change it again at a later date, do so by following the same steps. Be sure to listen to the sound or ringtone beforehand because some sounds or ringtones may be too soft or unexpectedly unpleasant.
