Use A Bose Wave Radio

The Bose Wave stereo system is a small stereo known for its high-quality sound. While this stereo may look minuscule compared to a more elaborate, full sound system, it is capable of producing sound that belies its small body. The Bose Wave system has a slot for one CD, but you can buy add-ons such as Bose's Wave multi-disc changer and a connecting system for an iPod. Using the system requires setting it up in an ideal location and playing the music you enjoy.

Instructions

1. Determine which Bose Wave system best suits your space and listening needs. Bose produces different Wave systems, geared toward rooms of different sizes. The Wave system is designed for use in small spaces, while the Wave Acoustic series is ideal for use in large rooms and outdoors.

2. Position the Bose Wave stereo where you will enjoy listening to it and where it is easily accessible. The Wave stereo measures roughly 4 by 15 by 9 inches, so it will fit in relatively small spaces. The Wave Acoustic stereo is larger, at 11 by 18 by 7 inches, and will require more space.

3. Do not place the Wave where it is in danger of being exposed to water or any liquid. If you wish to use it in the kitchen, keep it away from the sink. Also, the rear of the stereo has vents that must not be blocked.

4. Plug the small end of the Bose Wave's power cord into the rear of the device and plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet. Unwind the power cord and straighten it to its full length, as the Wave's FM antenna is built into the cord.

5. Explore the different functions of the Bose Wave stereo by pressing their corresponding buttons on the remote control. The "On/Off" button provides power to the device; the "Time" buttons allow you to enter the correct clock time; the "FM/AM" and "CD" buttons enable the corresponding functions; and the "AUX" button enables your iPod if it is plugged in. Explore other buttons such as the volume control, "Seek/Track," "Tune" and stereo presets.

6. Insert a CD into the Wave stereo's CD slot to play a CD. Press the "CD" button on the remote control and choose your desired play mode by pressing the "Play Mode" button repeatedly.

7. Press the "FM/AM" button and press either of the "Tune" arrows to find the station of your choice. If you wish to enter that station into the system as a preset favorite, press and hold one of the six "Presets" buttons for at least one second.

8. Turn off the Bose Wave stereo when it is not in use.
