Operate A Grundig Television

Operating a Grundig television is not a complex task, requires no formal training, and isn't a process for only electronic whiz-kids to attempt. Everyday display adjustments, A/V input switches, and external device connections can be made by you in your spare time with no headaches or stress, as long as you have the convenience of the Grundig television remote on hand and a little understanding of the Grundig television's menu system and A/V and Zoom functions.

Instructions

1. Ensure that all the connections have been correctly made, because if they have not, normal operation of your Grundig television will not be possible. This includes checking to make sure the power cable for the Grundig television is not loose, and ensuring that the A/V cables are both securely in place and also hooked up to the correct sockets. In a standard A/V (audio/visual) setup, these cables are red, white and yellow and hook up to sockets on the back of the Grundig television and the back of your cable or satellite box that are color-coded. So, the red cables (there is one of each on each end of the A/V cable) should only go into the red-colored sockets, and so on.

2. Peruse and make changes under the Grundig television's menu system. Hit the "Menu" button on the Grundig television remote (or on the face of the TV itself) to access the menu. Scroll through using the up/down arrows on the remote/TV face to make changes to menu options. For instance, under Clock settings, you may set the correct date and time, or under "Brightness", adjust the brightness of your Grundig television.

3. Utilize the "Zoom" button on your Grundig television remote. This function will allow you to change the ratio of the television program currently being displayed. For instance, it can stretch the program so the picture takes up the entire width of your screen (in the case of a Grundig wide-screen TV), or zoom in multiple times to further enhance (or distort) the picture on screen.

4. Connect external devices such as DVD players and game systems to operate these devices in conjunction with your Grundig television. These devices will hook up to your Grundig television via additional A/V inputs on the back of your Grundig. There are high-def and standard-def hookups for these devices, depending on your specific Grundig model, and making sure the correct A/V input for each device is used to maximize picture quality is essential, so check the manual that ships with your specific Grundig for more.

5. Cycle through video inputs and acquaint yourself with the input system. Cycling through video inputs will allow you to switch between displaying audio and video feeds from different external devices, such as the aforementioned game systems and DVD players. Use the "AV" button on your Grundig television remote to cycle through these inputs.
