Adding Sirius satellite radio to your PT Cruiser's sound system gives you access to hundreds of uncensored, commercial-free music and entertainment channels. PT Cruiser owners looking to avoid dashboard alterations can opt to use Sirius plug-and-play receivers such as the Starmate 4. Connect the Starmate 4 plug-and-play receiver to your PT Cruiser's stereo through its docking cradle. All of the necessary materials are included in your Sirius satellite radio hardware installation kit.
Instructions
1. Connect the Sirius satellite radio docking cradle to the vehicle's power. Insert the docking cradle's power cable into the PT Cruiser's cigarette lighter. Insert the DC power adapter end into the corresponding port on the docking cradle.
2. Attach the Sirius satellite radio's magnetic antenna to the PT Cruiser's roof. Tuck the antenna cord into the PT Cruiser's front windshield rubber casing. Slide the cord down the casing and into the passenger side door's weather stripping down to the floor. Route the cord into the car---underneath the carpet if possible---and near the area where you intend to install the Starmate 4 receiver.
3. Insert the antenna cord into the docking cradle's "Antenna In" port.
4. Connect the enclosed suction cup to your docking cradle. Stick the suction cup and docking cradle somewhere inside the PT Cruiser that does not obstruct the driver or passenger's vision or movement. Sirius recommends sticking the suction cup behind the rear view mirror.
5. Slide the Starmate 4 receiver into the docking cradle. Doing so gives the receiver both power and a satellite signal.
6. Turn the PT Cruiser's terrestrial radio to the station frequency shown on the Starmate 4 receiver to hear the Sirius audio through your existing stereo system.
7. Call the Sirius customer service number displayed on your Starmate 4 receiver and written in its user manual. Doing so activates your Sirius satellite radio service. You can also activate your service from the Sirius website.
