Knowing load film into a Pentax Camera is important so that you do not expose the film before you use it. And if you do not load the film correctly, it will not advance the way it should. When you buy the film, you should make sure that the film is in a sealed pouch, which will mean that it was not tampered with or used before. Your pictures are important to you and you want your camera and film to produce quality photography.
Instructions
Loading the Camera
1. Take the camera in an upright position and lift up on the rewind knob that is located on the left side of the camera. When you lift up on the knob, it will open the back of the camera where the film is loaded.
2. Open your 24-exposure film pouch. The film is in a black plastic container. Remove the film from the container and save this container for after the film has been used.
3. Lay the camera down with the backside up. On the left side, you will see the opening where the film roll fits. Place the roll of film into the holder. If you have a problem inserting the roll, lift up on the rewind knob to allow the roll to drop in. Push the knob down to secure the film roll.
4. Grab the narrow end of the film that is sticking out of the film roll. Pull this end to the right side of the camera where there is a spool with a slit in the middle. Insert the end of the film into the slit. When the film stops, hold the camera and push the film so that it goes pasted the film spring type mechanism. May sure that the end of the film completes the circle and appears where you have started inserting the film.
5. Use the advance button on the camera to secure the film. You want to watch as you do this to make sure that the film is secure in the spool. Look at the film to make sure that the advance teeth are lined up with the teeth opening on the film (little holes on the both sides of the film).
6. Close the back and take a few pictures to make sure that the film is advancing and to make sure that you are in the starting position on the film.
