The Size Of The Compact Flash On A Canon 10d

The Canon EOS 10D is a digital single lens reflex camera (SLR) that comes standard with a pop-up style built-in flash unit. It is used during low-light situations or when the photographer wants to take an image that stops action.

Dimensions

The actual pop-up flash in the Canon EOS 10D is approximately 0.80 inches tall by 2 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep when in use. It occupies almost no discernible space when it is not in use and is locked in its holding place.

Flash Range

At ISO 100 (a unit of measure describing the sensitivity of the digital sensor or film to light), the built-in flash can reach up to 12 meters. The effective, full flash range is between 12 and 15 feet.

Flash Exposure Compensation

The high intensity light behind the model would have exposed her so that she was completely dark had the photographer not used fill flash.

One handy feature of the built-in flash allows the photographer to compensate the exposure in 1/3 stop increments of light for up to two stops of overexposed or underexposed scenarios. This also enables the photographer to employ fill flash, filling in light in high contrast light settings.
