Unlock Nokia N81 Mobile Lock Code
By unlocking your Nokia N81, you will be able to use it with any GSM network. This means that you will not be bound to use any particular service provider. There are many websites on the Internet that provide unlock codes for free, but keep in mind that none of them offer guaranteed codes and most of the time after trying more than 3 lock codes, the phone locks permanently. For this reason, it's a lot better to use paid unlocking services that are guaranteed to work.
Instructions
1. Find your Nokia N81's IMEI number, which is an ID number specific to your phone set. You can get the IMEI number by typing *#06#. Upon typing this code, the phone screen will show you a lengthy number. This number will be the IMEI that you will use for unlocking the phone.
2. Visit an online website that offers lock codes for Nokia handsets. Some of these websites are listed in the Resources section of this article.
3. Enter your phone's IMEI number in the website's form. Also, enter your email address, cell phone manufacturer (Nokia), cell phone model (N81) and the current network carrier's name.
4. Wait for the code to arrive by email. It usually takes 5 to 10 days for the code to arrive.
5. Enter the unlock code when you get it. First, power the phone off and take the SIM card out. Then, turn it on again and enter the code you received from the website. Upon entering the code, your phone screen will read out "SIM Restriction Off." At that point, your phone will be unlocked and ready for use with other cell phone network providers.
