Download Video From A Canon Fs100

Digital camcorders are easy to use and a convenient way to record family memories.

Camcorders, such as the Canon FS100, are a convenient way to preserve memories, but getting video off a digital camcorder for storage or editing purposes can be an exacting process. Users must follow a series of instructions in order to download the video so it can be archived.

Instructions

1. Install the Pixela ImageMixer software on the computer. Double-click the Pixela icon and start Step 2 while it opens.

2. Plug in the charger so the camcorder is not running off its battery. It will not transfer files while using battery power.

3. Select "Camera mode" (blue camera logo).

4. Connect the USB cable to the camcorder and an available USB port on the computer.

5. Use the camera's joystick to select "PC/Printer" on the camera screen; depress the joystick to select.

6. Click on the "Transfer to PC" option.

7. Choose the destination folder for the video files; for example, C:/my documents/my videos.

8. Click "Save" and click "execute." The files should begin to transfer to the destination folder.

9. Open the destination folder when the file transfer is finished to ensure that the files were saved to the correct location.

10. Close ImageMixer and disconnect the camcorder from the computer. Check battery level and connect the camcorder to the charger if needed. Turn off the camcorder.
