Use Speaker Adapters

Speaker adapters allow your aftermarket speakers to fit into the same mounting area as your original speakers without having to drill holes or cut the door. Oftentimes aftermarket speakers are either too large or too small to be properly secured in the same way the original speakers were mounted into your vehicle. A speaker adapter screws into place in your car's original speaker mount, and the speaker screws into the speaker adapter, creating an easy custom fit.

Instructions

1. Purchase aftermarket speakers and an adapter kit that fits your vehicle.

2. Disconnect the negative terminal from the car battery and remove the original factory speaker from your car door by removing the grill, unscrewing the speaker with a Phillips head screwdriver and unplugging the speaker wire. Refer to the Resources section for general help in removing speakers.

3. Use the factory speaker screws to connect the speaker adapter to the door in the same place the factory speaker was installed.

4. Connect the speaker wire to the terminals on the aftermarket speaker.

5. Screw the speaker into the adapter using the screws that came with the adapter and the appropriate screwdriver.
