Update Firmware For Triton 500 Gps

The Magellan Triton 500 navigation device includes maps for the United States and Canada. This handheld GPS system runs on two AA batteries, features a 320-by-240-pixel TFT color display and built-in barometer. Magellan periodically releases new firmware versions that expand the capabilities of its GPS units. Upgrade your Triton 500 with the latest firmware to enjoy several improvements, including better menu navigation, an improved route management system and a new area calculation feature.

Instructions

1. Download the firmware update from Magellan's website. Extract the .exe file from the .zip file. Double-click the .exe file to launch the firmware installation program.

2. Plug one end of the USB cable into the Triton 500. Insert the other end into a USB port on your computer.

3. Press the "Power" button on the Triton 500 to turn on the GPS unit. Open the "Connectivity" menu, and select "Connect to PC." The firmware installation program will automatically detect the GPS unit. Click "Next" when it reports "Triton 500 is attached."

4. Read the Magellan user license agreement, and click the "I agree" check box. Click "Next" to continue. The firmware installation program will begin installing the update. The entire process should take about 30 minutes.

5. Click "OK" when the firmware installation program reports that the update is complete. Turn off the Triton 500 and disconnect it from your computer.
