The MiniDisc player is a portable electronic device manufactured by Sony that plays a small disc using the Hi-HD format. To use the MiniDisc player for the first time you need to know play a disc on the device. Songs that are stored on a disc are also searchable on the device. When accessing options, a beep sound is heard through the headphones. You will use buttons on the device when making various selections.

5. Press control pad towards "Vol +" or "Vol -" to adjust the sound level.

10. Press the "Nav/Menu" key to enter the main menu.
11. Select option for "Option -- Beep."
12. Turn the "Jog Dial" until "Beep Off" appears in the display.
13. Press the "(>ENT)" button to select the option and turn off the beep sound.
