Use Activesync To Install A New Application On A Dell Axim

ActiveSync allows you to transfer files, data and applications simply from a desk or laptop computer to your handheld device. It's one of the most efficient, high-speed ways to update your device. Follow these instructions to use ActiveSync to install a new application on a Dell Axim.

Instructions

1. Install the right version of ActiveSync. Different Dell Axim devices have different versions; so consult the Dell website to make sure you have the version you need.

2. Connect your device to your computer. You can use any of several cords and cables, but most of the time users prefer the USB that comes with the Dell Axim.

3. Open the ActiveSync software, located on your computer's desktop. If you can't find it, use your computer's search feature. Move the ActiveSync program to your desktop for future use.

4. Use the ActiveSync explorer to locate the file you want to transfer to your Dell Axim. Drag the file to the window of your Pocket PC.

5. Some applications need to be transferred to your Dell Axim before they can be installed. If this is the case, drag the .exe files you need to your Dell Axim, then open them. This should prompt Install Wizard on your handheld device.

6. Some applications can be opened and installed on a PC before you transfer them to your Dell Axim. If this is the case, you can simply transfer the installed program directly to your Dell Axim.
