Problems With A Polaroid 46 Tla04641c

Just like any LCD TV, the 46-inch Polaroid TLA-04641C can potentially suffer from problems that impact your viewing and listening pleasure. To help you correct these problems, the TV's official service manual provides troubleshooting strategies. Polaroid, which is well-known for its innovations in photography, released the TLA-04641C in 2007. As of 2011, the TV is no longer in production.

TV Won't Turn On

If the Polaroid TLA-04641C fails to turn on when you press the power button on the TV unit or on the TV's remote control, you may be able to remedy the problem by ensuring that the TV's power cord is securely plugged into a functioning electrical power outlet. If the connection is secure and the outlet is functioning, it is possible that the Polaroid TLA-04641C has blown a fuse. As the service manual notes, the TV is equipped with a safety fuse to provide protection in the event of a power outage or electrical storm. To access the fuse, pry open the fuse panel on the back of the TV using a sturdy plastic tool. Using a metal tool could cause a shock. Replace the fuse with a 4A 250V 5x20mm time lag fuse.

Picture-in-Picture Problem

Picture-in-picture is a feature that allows a TV to display a second, smaller screen within the corner of the larger, main screen. By turning picture-in-picture on, you can watch two channels simultaneously. If you are unable to get picture-in-picture to work with the Polaroid TLA-04641C, it is likely a result of an incorrect input source. Picture-in-picture does not work with the TV's Component 1 or Component 2 input sources. So if you want to use the feature, change the TV's input source.

No Picture or No Sound

In some instances, the Polaroid TLA-04641C may fail to display an on-screen picture and/or fail to produce sound. To remedy such problems, make sure that all of the connections between the TV and peripheral components are secure. Such components can include cable boxes, satellites receivers, DVD players and speakers. Alternative remedies for a lack of picture or sound include changing the TV's Video and Audio Function setting and changing the TV's AD Board Box setting.

Parental Control Problems

If you are having trouble setting the Polaroid TLA-04641C TV's Parental Controls, enter in the password "0000." This is the factory preset password, and you must enter it in before you can set a personal password. If you lose your personal password or are unable to remember it, enter in the TV'S master password: 8202. The master password overrides all other passwords. Keep in mind, however, that you cannot change the master password, so make sure to keep it away from children.
