An xD-Picture card is a specific type of flash memory card used for digital cameras. Not all digital cameras can use an xD-Picture card, however. Only certain cameras, particularly ones made by Olympus and Fujifilm, use an xD-Picture card. Using an xD-Picture card is generally a simple process.
Instructions
1. Verify that your device requires an xD-Picture card. The xD-Picture card slot won't accept any other sort of flash memory, so you must check the documentation that came with your device to make sure you purchase the correct type of flash memory.
2. Choose the speed of xD-Picture card you wish to use. There are 3 speeds available: H, M and M+. The M+ xD-Picture card is the newest and fastest type, while the H is the oldest and slowest.
3. Select the size of your xD-Picture card. The 1 GB and 2 GB sizes are the most common. It is unlikely that the average person would need to use an xD-Picture card larger than 2 GB.
4. Insert and format your xD-Picture card as per the instructions in your camera's documentation.
