The Windows Mobile operating system powers several different models of Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and Smartphones, such as the Dell Axim and the HP iPAQ. Because these are made by Microsoft, they have also been designed to easily connect to any PC that's running Microsoft Windows. You can then sync information between the two such as Outlook email, calendars or tasks.
Instructions
1. Download and Install Microsoft ActiveSync to your PC. Windows Mobile uses this to synchronize with a PC. If you have Windows Vista or a later version of Windows, use the Windows Mobile Device Center.
2. Connect your Windows Mobile device to your Computer with the USB cable.
3. Open Microsoft ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center, depending on your Operating system. (See Step 1) This automatically connects your computer to your Windows Mobile device. If this is the first time you are connecting your device to your PC, a Synchronization wizard will appear. If this is the case, proceed to the next step.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen. You'll have to name your device, and determine what information you'd like shared between the devices.
