The heart of any car audio system is the car stereo. So if you want better performance from your stereo, replace the existing car radio with an aftermarket car radio that has better power and more features than the one that was installed in the factory. If you're going to install a new radio, you'll need to replace the old one first. With a 1994 Honda Civic the job isn't too difficult. All you need are some basic hand tools and a little time.
Instructions
1. Turn the ignition off and set the parking brake for your car.
2. Remove two Phillips screws, one from either side of the lower center trim panel. Take out two Phillips screws located directly above the ashtray.
3. Pull firmly on the lower trim panel to release it from the clips holding it in place. Set the panel aside.
4. Remove two Phillips screws from the underside of the radio. The screws hold the radio in place on a metal mounting plate.
5. Slide the radio toward you. Reach around to the back and unplug the connectors and the antenna plug.
