The Palm Treo 750 by HP is powered by the Windows Mobile Operating System. With the Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade, users can access all the Microsoft Office 2007 file formats and programs from the device when without a full computer readily available. This is a free upgrade available through Microsoft online and is easily installed onto the device.
Instructions
1. Go to the Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade download page. (See Resources.)
2. Select "Download" from the right side. When prompted, click "Save File."
3. Connect the Palm Treo 750 to the computer using the USB cable.
4. Ensure the proper sync software is running on the computer. For Windows Vista and 7, this is Windows Mobile Device Center, and for Windows XP, it is ActiveSync. When the device is properly connected, the program will open automatically; if it doesn't, go to "Start" then "All Programs" and select the program for the Operating System.
5. Double-click the file after the download is complete. The download window will say "Download Complete" when finished. The installation begins. Follow all instructions on the installation wizard.
6. Click "Sync" on the sync window, located on the top toolbar of the sync software. When the window says "Complete" the update is complete and it is OK to disconnect the device.
7. Turn the device off and back on for the update to be complete.
