Magellan's SporTrak outdoor navigation device entered the market in 2004 and has since been replaced by other outdoor models. That's not to say that your options for map upgrades have been terminated, though. A free trial download of ExpertGPS software will bolster your SporTrak's way points, tracks and trails with the latest data available in 2010. After your free trial expires, you can decide if you'd like to purchase the improvements for $74.95.
Instructions
1. Connect your SporTrak GPS device and an Internet-ready computer via the provided USB cable.
2. Turn both devices on and log in to your computer's desktop.
3. Navigate to the link in the Resources section and select "Click to Install ExpertGPS Free Trial."
4. Choose "Save File" and place the download in a convenient location on your computer. Click "OK" after choosing a location.
5. Double-click the ExpertGPS icon after it's downloaded. Click on "Run" and follow the prompts to fully install it. Once installed, the software will upgrade your SporTrak's maps, points of interest and even add topographical details heretofore unavailable.
