Reset A Treo 700wx

The Palm Treo 700wx is a Windows Mobile smartphone with a 312 MHz processor and 128 MB of internal memory. Like any other computer or mobile device, the Treo 700wx may occasionally experience a problem because an application locks up or some other situation occurs. There are two ways to reset a Palm Treo 700wx. Perform a soft reset to reboot the device, or a hard reset to return the device to its original configuration.

Instructions

Soft Resetting the Palm Treo 700wx

1. Push the plastic tab on the back of the Treo 700wx and slide the plastic battery cover off the phone. This exposes the reset button under the battery cover, on the left side of the phone.

2. Press the reset button with the phone's stylus. Alternately, remove the battery from the phone, then re-insert it and press the power button on the front of the phone.

3. Replace the plastic battery cover.

Hard Resetting the Palm Treo 700wx

4. Back up all of the files and programs on the Palm Treo 700wx so that you can restore them after performing the hard reset, which deletes all of the data from the phone and returns it to the original factory state.

5. Remove the plastic battery cover from the back of the phone.

6. Push the "Power/End" button on the front of the phone if the screen is turned off and push the button again and continue holding it.

7. Push the reset button on the back of the Treo 700wx. Hold both the reset and "Power/End" buttons down until the screen displays a message asking whether you want to erase the data on the phone.
