Shoot Sports On A Panasonic P2

Panasonic P2 camcorders are temperature, shock and vibration-resistant.

Panasonic P2 camcorders are professional camcorders that allow you to shoot in HD. P2 camcorders do not have internal parts that move, such as a hard disk drive or a DVD disc you would insert to record on; instead, it saves any recorded material to memory cards. The P2 camcorders are resistant to high temperatures, shocks and vibration. It is ideal to shoot sports on a P2 camcorder, because the device can capture the fast movement of the game and stay clear if you need to move around the field to capture the entire game while filming. It is also recommended to shoot in auto mode, as you may miss moments in the game or not have all the footage clear if you need to manually change the settings when moving on the field.

Instructions

1. Slide the "Power" button to "On."

2. Press the "Open" button on the LCD monitor to open the monitor and view the footage you are filming. Adjust the monitor to position. If you prefer, you can hold the viewfinder up to your eyes and look through that instead.

3. Adjust your physical position on the field. Esquire magazine recommends you get on your knees to shoot the game, because you will get a better view of the players' positions and faces, in addition to the landscape. Stay in a single position that captures the field and pan the camera from one side to the other to capture the action, or physically move yourself around the edge of the field to film it. To keep the camera steady, hold the camera with both hands and keep your elbows fixed against your torso.

4. Slide the "Auto/Manual" button to "Auto." This will automatically set the focus, gain, iris and white balance to make sure you get the best picture. When you are moving around on the field or the action moves across the area you are filming, the focus may change; the auto setting will then automatically adjust.

5. Press the red "Start/Stop" button on the power button to begin filming.

6. Press the red "Start/Stop" button on the power button when you are finished filming to stop.

7. Open the card cover.

8. Push the memory card into the slot so it will spring up.

9. Hold the card with two fingers and gently pull it out. Close the card cover.
