Replace A Bulb On A Hitachi Dlp Tv

Add thousands more hours to your big screen viewing pleasure with a replacement bulb. Though production of new Hitachi DLPs have been halted, installing a new bulb in your television doesn't require the help of Hitachi's technical support department. In less than an hour, with the majority of the time spent allowing the bulb to cool, you can replace your old blown out bulb with a fresh one.

Instructions

1. Turn off your television and remove it's power cord. Give the lamp--the projector's bulb--about 45 minutes to cool before continuing.

2. Use a Philips head screwdriver to remove the screw securing the cover to the lamp housing compartment, and then remove the cover. Depending on your Hitachi model, the lamp compartment will be located either on the bottom left side of your television, or at the bottom of the front.

3. Remove the two screws securing the lamp to its housing. Grasp the lamp firmly by it's handle, and then remove it from the lamp housing.

4. Insert the new lamp into the lamp housing, using the same orientation as the old lamp--use the lamp handle to guide it in.

5. Replace the lamp cover--slide the two-pronged side of the cover into the two grooves on the left side of the housing. Secure the cover screw with your Philips head screwdriver.

6. Remember to recycle your used lamp--take it to a local electronics store or mail it to an online recycling company.
