Program A Kenwood Tk2170 Radio

Kenwood has been a pioneer in transceiver technology for many years, gaining much acclaim for their TK2170 series. In addition to the standard call and disconnect buttons that are common on all UHF and VHF transceivers, are seven keys that can be programmed to 33 different functions. If you haven't started programming your TK2170 just yet, you're in luck. All you need is to download the manual from the Kenwood site and to keep reading this instruction.

Instructions

1. Go to the Kenwood website and download the manual for the TK 2170 transceiver. There is a detailed explanation of each of the 33 functions, which will help you configure the device for optimal performance.

2. Open the PDF document and scroll down to page 15. This is where the detailed function list will appear for assigning to the seven keys.

3. Choose which functions are to go with each key. Keep in mind that the "Emergency" function cannot be assigned to the seven keys, but only to the Auxiliary button on the keypad.

4. Go to the Kenwood Dealer Locator section on their website, then look for "Land Mobile Radio," and enter your zip code or address. You will be shown the dealer that is in closest proximity to you on the next page.

5. Visit the closest dealer location that appears from the search results. They will take a look at how you have selected the configuration of the functions on the seven keys, then activate them with their own software. Your TK2170 will now be programmed specifically as you want it to be.
