Wire Up 6x9 Speakers

6X9 inch speakers are larger and often more powerful than their standard 6.5 inch brethren. They often required custom fitting to be properly installed in a car. However, wiring a 6X9 is the same process as any other speaker. All that's required is speaker wire and speaker connectors.

Instructions

1. Connect the positive input, usually labeled with a "+" sign or colored red, of the speaker wire to the positive output on the power source. The power source will either be an amplifier or head unit.

2. Connect the negative input, usually labeled with a "-" sign or colored black, of the speaker wire to the negative output of the power source.

3. Cut the opposite end of the speaker wire using wire cutters to reveal the copper wire.

4. Attach speaker connectors to the positive and negative splits off the copper wire.

5. Attach the speaker connectors to the 6X9 inch speaker terminals. Be sure to connect the positive lead of the speaker connectors to the positive terminal on the speakers and negative lead to the negative terminal.
