To view what your security camera is surveying, you have to plug it into a video source such as a TV. Most security cameras can plug into virtually any TV using audio video cables, which are some of the most common and inexpensive electronic cables around. Remember to plan how far away the TV will be located from the security camera in order to determine how long an audiovideo cable you should purchase.
Instructions
Connecting a Security Camera to a TV
1. Set up the security camera where you'd like to survey, following your video camera's unique installation instructions.
2. Plug the video input from the audiovideo cable, usually yellow colored, into the video output of the security camera. Plug in the audio input if the camera is equipped with one audio output.
3. Plug the other end of the audio video cable's video input (and audio input if applicable) into the TV's video output. Keep in mind that you may have to purchase an extra long RCA cable, depending on how far away your TV is from the security camera.
4. Turn your television and security camera on and change the video input on the TV to the proper audio/video input.
