A camera can be saved after being dropped in the water.
You're taking pictures of your family at the beach when the unthinkable happens: you drop your digital camera in the water. So, what do you do to save your wet camera?
Power It Off
Turn your camera off immediately when you take it out of the water. Don't check to see if it still works; trying to use a wet camera can short out parts of its electronics. Just turn it off.
Remove the Battery
Take the battery out of your camera immediately. Removing the battery will allow you to ensure no power gets to the camera and to remove any water that got in the battery compartment.
Dry It Off
Dry your camera off with a towel, removing all the water from it that you can see.
Put It in Rice
Put your camera in a plastic bag or other airtight container covered in uncooked rice, and then leave it in the container overnight. The rice will pull out any moisture that may have gotten inside your camera.
Visit a Repair Shop
Take your camera to a camera repair shop in your area if it still does not work after being put in rice overnight. A repair shop may be able to fix the damaged pieces of your camera, enabling it to work again.
