Connect A Stereo Equalizer To A Cd Recorder

Connect a Stereo Equalizer to a CD Recorder

A stereo equalizer allows music lovers to sculpt sound by adjusting the frequency range of an audio signal. Hooking up an equalizer between a CD player and a CD recorder opens a range of audio possibilities, from balancing the left and right stereo sounds, to boosting or decreasing a range of frequencies from treble to mid-range and bass. The connection requires two sets of standard RCA audio cables, which hook up in less than five minutes.

Instructions

1. Connect a set of audio cables to the equalizer's "Input" jacks, sometimes labeled "Tape IN," using the white plug for the left audio connection and the red plug for the right.

2. Insert the plugs on the other end of this cable into the CD player's "Audio Output" jacks. Most CD players have only one set of jacks that output the sound from the disc.

3. Connect a second set of audio cables to the equalizer's "Audio OUT" or "Tape OUT" jacks, using the same color codes to match the plugs to the jacks.

4. Insert the plugs on the other end of these cables into the CD "Audio IN" or "Record IN" jacks.

5. Connect the power cords on all three components to a surge protector, then plug the surge protector into a wall outlet.
