Motorola Technologies makes the Astro XLT5000 mobile digital radio. This is a device used by truckers, law enforcement, fire, ambulance and search and rescue crews. The radio is available for civilian use and broadcasts and a range of frequencies. The recent versions of the XLT5000 have two 3.5-pin microphone jacks, allowing two microphones to connect and broadcast via the radio. Older models have a single 3.5-pin connection point. To use two mics with older models you need a microphone adapter.
Instructions
Modern XLT5000
1. Plug the 3.5-pin microphones into the XLT5000 microphone jacks found on the lower-left side of the radio.
2. Turn the radio on and double click each microphone, listening for a crackle on the radio speaker each time you click.
3. Click each microphone seperately to ensure both are connected and working properly.
