Connect A Verizon Phone To A Tomtom Gps

TomTom GPS units have a mobile phone connectivity setting that allows you to wirelessly connect your Verizon phone to the unit through Bluetooth technology. When connected to the TomTom GPS unit, you can make hands-free phone calls, which is safer than trying to dial and speak on the phone while driving. (Many states have outlawed talking on a phone, unless it is hands-free, while driving.) A microphone and speaker on the GPS unit allows you to communicate with the person you are calling.

Instructions

1. Place your phone in "Discovery" mode so the TomTom GPS unit can make a connection with the phone. The method for turning on "Discovery" mode is different for each Verizon phone, but is generally found in "Settings," "Bluetooth," "Discovery Mode" and "Visible." Refer to the Verizon Wireless interactive phone guides for information on placing your phone in "Discovery" mode (see Resources).

2. Touch "Mobile Phone" on the TomTom GPS unit screen. A prompt will appear asking if you want to set up a connection with a mobile phone. Choose "Yes."

3. Select your Verizon phone from the list of available Bluetooth devices.

4. Enter the passkey "0000" on your phone when prompted and choose "OK" or "Yes." The connection is completed after entering the passkey.
