If you have more than one television in your home you can use a splitter to get the signal on both televisions at the same time. You will first need to measure the distance between the cable or satellite box to the location of the second television you wish to connect. Consider the route you will run the cable while measuring so you know what length of cable you need to use. The signal to both will still be controlled by your cable or satellite box.
Instructions
1. Turn off power to the televisions and the cable or satellite box. Label the cable that is connected from the "out to television" connection on the back of your satellite or cable box running to your television set as cable 1. Label the cable that you plan to run to the second television cable 2.
2. Connect cable 2 into the second television set and run the cable along the route you planned to the cable or satellite box . Cut Cable 1 at the last point where Cable 1 and 2 meet with wire cutters. Label the end of the cable still attached to the back of the television as cable 3.
3. Strip the coaxial cable about 1/2 inch on each of the cut ends. Twist one F Connector on each of the cut ends. Connect Cable 1 to the connection labeled "IN" on your splitter. Connect Cables 2 and 3 to the connections labeled "OUT" on your splitter.
4. Turn the power back on to the cable or satellite box. Turn the power back on to both of your televisions.
