If you are putting together a home audio system, one essential element will be a CD player. Whether it's a single disc player or one that can hold multiple discs, the CD player will be at the heart of your system. Home audio CD players can't do the job themselves alone, however. They must be connected to a receiver or amplifier so you can hear your music.
Instructions
1. Find the CD player input on your receiver or amplifier. This will be a pair of RCA jacks labeled "CD." If there is no set labeled CD, you can use "Aux." Do not use "Phono," however. That jack is designed for the lower powered signal of a turntable.
2. Connect an RCA patch cable to the "CD" input on your receiver. Plug one RCA jack into the red-colored plug and the other into the white-colored plug.
3. Connect the other end of the RCA patch cable to the RCA inputs on the back of the CD player. Be sure the plug connected to the red jack of the receiver is connected to the red jack of the CD player, likewise with the white jacks.
4. Plug the CD player into a wall outlet for electricity and turn it on.
5. Turn on your receiver and set the input to "CD" using the buttons on the front panel. Put a CD into your CD player and press "Play."
